Studio update!

Oh man… Went up and 5:30 this morning, knowing J had sent the files for track 3. Eager as fuck to see what these guys (yep… there were some guest or 2 included in this session) cooked up last night, and to say it’s some insane shit going on in this tune is not even close to it.

We are going to hell for this.

As I have said before, J gets lyrics from me and works his ways with them as he think it should sound. He sure as fuck did some stuff I never thought of. There’s something about J’s way of thinking up how to phrase sentences that just makes me go… wow… Just absolutely excellent.

This morning could have started off worse, for sure. I work with phenoms. Life is fucken sweet, yo.

Now I have 2 tracks that are complete with vocals. Meaning both J and Ruby has done their whole work for 2 songs. They don’t necessarily enter the studios and do the same tune all the time, haha… Not that I mind. J is halfway there now (even a bit more) and Ruby is 4 tunes down, leaving her with 2 more to go. Still everything is going according to the plans I made when we began this – and I am a bit surprised by it actually coz usually something fucks up.

Here’s to hoping it will all go this smoothly. In the meantime lemme just say that J and Ruby are really doing some absolutely insane stuff. I get fucken goosebumps listening to this album at this early stage.

Update!

Tomorrow J is supposed to enter the studio to nail one or 2 more songs, making him cross the “halfway to completion” path. Ruby is most probably off to the studio as well to work on her 5th and 6th song. Tobben will enter the newly built Big Balls Productions studio a week earlier than expected, so he starts recording his drums around the 20th of September. Everything is going even better than how we planned it. Let’s hope it continues like that, haha…

I have listened thru the stuff completed so far and it’s fucken insane what performances J and Ruby’s pulled off. The tunes are all coming together now and to say that this my life’s work is an understatements. Can’t wait to hear what Tobben will cook up, giving it the final piece of excellence. And the solos from Mike Wead will be nothing but absolutely mindblowing. Oh, and there are obviously a few guests as well incorporated, hehe…

As mentioned before, we plan to have this ready for Swanö by the start of October, and then we’ll spend a few weeks or so mixing it. Oh, and to the top right you can see a bit of the album cover.

Another vocals update!

Lemme just say that I thought Ruby did some great fucken work with the pre-productions, but this is something else. Holy shit. I just got vocals for 4 of the 6 tracks off this coming album and I am absolutely amazed. This girl sure has got some balls, mind the expression The only thing that is a little irritating is the fact we didn’t get her on board 10 years ago. The Kid is delivering on all accounts and I couldn’t be more satisfied. She only has 2 more songs to put down and in the meantime I am going thru everything with a smile on my face. This is turning out incredibly dark, incredibly brutal and incredibly beautiful.

Hang in there guys, you are in for a treat.
