Lyrics completed!

Yes, as the title of this post says – the lyrics are completed. After some hard work I got all of that stuff down and the only thing left is to (eventually) fine-tune some small parts to make it (even more) perfect. Now I’ll make the demos for J so he knows what I have in mind vocal wise, then he adds his own unique touch to everything and makes it so fucken dominating you’ll shit bricks when you hear it. Like he always does. Now the main work of mine is completed, I’ll just go thru everything from time to time to see if anything needs changing (a process I have grown best buddies with as of late, haha) or improving, but this album really feels special on so many levels. You’ll see.

As mentioned, we have absolutely stepped up on all accounts and now the real fun part for me starts when I finally get to hear what the rest of the guys will deliver, how they will glue this masterpiece together and make it all completely mindblowing. Still, tons of work left – but seeing this monster shape up to match my vision is just phenomenal. I have also decided to give you a small, instrumental snippet from one of the tunes in this state, simply becoz I know you want one. Nothing fancy – just domination.

Time for another song writing update… And what about the donations?

Over the last weeks I have been working my ass off on this 6th track (out of 7 planned) for the next album that you guys, the Haters, obviously will make a reality thanx to your donations to The TPH Donation Experiment.  Today I managed to put down the first session of bass for this tune (the guitars still need to be checked closely, and I also have to do all of the remaining electronic stuff and orchestras before it’s “finished”), but we are so getting there, and it feels fucken killer, to say the least. I even managed to record a short clip for ya of me recording bass for a part that is not a 100% completed just yet, but I thought it’d be nice for you to hear something of what’s to come eventually. Click this link to get there. I will try to make more of these videos as I move forward with the composing. I’m sure some of you appreciates it anyways, so…

Oh, and I almost forgot about one thing (no, I didn’t – I just saved the good news for last)…

 

It looks like we are moving towards the goal, people, which is just phenomenal on all accounts. You guys truly are amazing.

And we move forward yet again…

After spending yesterday going thru the recorded guitars and doing some fix-ups, all the Xiphos work is now done for the third track. And yeah, so is the bass. I’ll check the mentioned low-end closer for eventual shit to be replayed after I am done with the orchestral arrangements which are about halfway completed. Some of the guitars for this one were quite a bitch to nail actually, but it turned out great in the end after some frustrating sessions and insane downstroke picking de luxe. So, what we have here now is (soon) 3 completed tunes for our next album. And already we have passed 30 minutes of material, with just fucken 3 songs. Yes, I am not making it easy on myself so do not expect to hear this new album on the radio anytime soon, ok? Anyways, the process goes on and as soon as the orchestral bits are arranged for this one I am moving on to the fourth one. I can’t believe it’s gone this fast to compose for album 8 – it’s just beautiful when it happens, as mentioned before.

Notification about iTunes issue!

Quite a few people have notified us about this. It seems like “Summoning majestic war” is being cut off too early on the iTunes version. for reasons we dont know. Someone were kind enough to mail us:

“I got my copy off iTunes and Summoning Majestic War ends abruptly at 9:44 (like, the lady is in the middle of singing and the music gets cut off and it goes to track 5). Was that a studio mistake? Otherwise, on the iTunes store they fucked the track.”

We have naturally informed Season Of Mist who’ve contacted iTunes to see what the fuck is up. SOM’s version plays all fine so it is definitely a problem at iTunes. Hopefully it gets fixed real soon coz it blows that you guys who bought it there have gotten cheated out of some minutes. They better make it up to you. In the meantime you can download the full high quality version here.

Update: We were just informed that this problem occurs at Spotify and Amazon as well. The ones responsible have been notified and the reply has been “Yes it has been redelivered.  Updating songs online takes between 4-8 weeks so hold tight.”

“Summoning majestic war” – Album glimpse available!

Announcement from Season Of Mist:

Says band leader Lord K. Philipson: “So, your first taste of the diabolical inferno that is “Bleeding the New Apocalypse” will now be unleashed upon mankind. The song in question is called “Summoning Majestic War” and is the fourth tune on the coming masterpiece that will be released on February 14th, 2011, thru Season of Mist.

“Why have we chosen this particular track to be your first glimpse of the new album? No reason really, we could have chosen any of them since they all absolutely dominate. We just thought it’d be nice to have Leif Edling somewhat introduce you to what we have created this time around. Yeah, CANDLEMASS bassist/everyday legend Leif Edling contributes some spoken words in this track. You can all start applauding now. But not only that. In this tune you’ll also get some insanely nice vocals from Christian Älvestam (who also sang a line or two on our last album).

“So, that’s a lot of bonus stuff for ya apart from the simple fact that ‘Summoning Majestic War’ is a goddamn phenomenal symphony that represents TPH in every shape, way and form. If you survive these 12+ minutes of pure excellence, pray you’ll survive the remaining five tracks on “Bleeding the New Apocalypse” as well. It will not be an easy task. Domination is a fierce beast. Our work is done – now it’s your turn to purchase the album and help us ship a few copies so we will be able to record another masterpiece with a great label such as SOM backing us up.
